To generate production drawings/ part list for parts and assemblies using ProEngineer/ Creo Parametric CAD software according to project requirements and product specifications.
To determine and implement design approaches and parameters and conduct feasibility studies on new designs.
To ensure product performance & quality objectives are achieved.
To execute project effectively as planned as well as communicating project status and escalating issues to engineering manager when appropriate.
Manage and update product design documentation such as drawing and design checklist.
Lead and/or participate in design review meetings and engineering change meeting.
Support suppliers to resolve issues and optimize design for manufacturability and efficiency. Will ensure designs are cost efficient, feasible and reliable.
To troubleshoot and resolve design or engineering related problems feedback from internal customers including assembly, application engineer, helpdesk personnel, procurement and purchasing executives, supplier quality engineer and others.
Participate in resolving design or engineering related issue found at customer site and travel to customer site when required.
To write and present technical reports to internal and end customers to communicate design related issues and countermeasures when necessary.
To assist and support peers in cross training and drawing checking.
Liaison with Besi Netherlands engineers closely for project-related discussion and drawing approval.
Contribute to sectional & departmental goals.
To perform other jobs as and when assigned by the engineering manager.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent)
3 to 5 years working experience in product design.
Minimum 3 years experiences in executing problem solving techniques related to design/ technical issues.
Good working knowledge of ProEngineer/ Creo Parametric CAD software (or other equivalent CAD software) with minimum 3 years experiences.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
Good understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical parts & components.
Working experience as tool and mold design engineer will be an added advantages.
Computer Literate (word processing, spread sheets, data base)
Ability to communicate in English- both oral and written.
